I think once they bolt they won't produce anything beyond flowers and seeds. I've never personally grown it but I think you have to keep it trimmed.

That's a possibility. I prefer to grow the smaller baby broccoli, they seem to produce really well, these things (purple sprouting) juat seem to have put their energy into growing. Some of the stalks would be a good 2.5inches round

I've never been able to get broccoli to produce well, could be too much nitrogen making them produce more leaves rather than flower heads.

I have had great success with the 'baby broccoli ' variety. But these, yes I don't know what's going on with them. I thought it may have been nutrient deficiencies, but behind them there are the smaller varieties (same bed) and they grew really well 🤷🏻‍♂️ the wife wants me to cut them out. I don't know.
