It looks complicated but it's largely copy and paste. If you wanted to try setting it up, I would be happy to help. I pay $5 a month for a VPS. The alternative is Mullvad which costs the same, but it's a service rather than self-hosted.

Yes Mullvad is great can pay in BTc, I use protonvpn but someone just said they are sponsored by WEF….. so just looking for options…..

I downloaded the app for iPhone (wireguard) let’s see if I can set up

You will need a server to connect the app to, which is what the guide I linked to is for.
