They already do this in NZ, in fact it happened to me last year. Turns out we hadn't been paying our regional council tax (they had been sending our tax invoices to an address that was 10 years old) so the council got in touch with our bank and just took it from our account... Now we are on a bitcoin standard, we keep *very* little cash in our account for that very reason.
