So basically think of everything I listed just as Mastodon and they all have different names that's it. They're all Twitter clones. It's a network of independent servers that people host and other people join them and they're all interconnected if other servers agree to connect with them if that makes any sense. You should read into it it's pretty interesting especially learning about banning and Def Federation and stuff kind of defeats the whole purpose and idea of a Federated Network
