Honestly, this part from what nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m said really stuck out to me: “it's perfectly OK that we mostly have devs and bitcoin-obsessives at the moment. we have time to get all the kinks out and make something that's truly hard to replicate. where the only way to compete will be to join.”
Made me even more content with what #nostr is and where it is going.
Just like with #bitcoin, where not everyone will use it, it is here for those that need and want it
And nostr’s use-cases are infinite, but not overnight.

The UI is sleek, I use it for the pod and haven’t quite faced the level of toxicity others have there, but it’s very limited in terms of what it does. Has growing users still (well over 2 million now I think?) and we’ll see if it goes towards the decentralized federated model.
But I’m growing more comfortable saying comparing that to something like nostr is comparing apples to oranges. Bluesky is a twitter replacement

The UX is lacking and nobody knows about it, but in nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch you can search for any @user@mastodon.server and it will let you find and follow that person via the mostr.pub bridge. If you work out the nip-05 you can do it in any nostr client.
