After hours of ripping old CDs, torrenting Linux ISOs and messing with Ventoy, my MP3 player is ready to play. 🤘 https://video.nostr.build/3f355edc26677a5c3e559298fecf0099dcc8326569beb556c32fbd07db7cdeef.mp4

sounds like early 2000s

Correct. All the old CDs of MP3s that I ripped date from 2003-2004.

Which CD brands or manufacturers have aged better? If I recall correctly Taiyo Yudens were supposed to be first class and Ritek the worst. Curious whether that was true or not in a 20year span.

That's pretty cool. It reminds me of the Zune, but thinner.

Yeah, it’s about half the size of an iPhone, slightly taller in aspect ratio. Similar thickness.

It was $30 on Amazon. It came with a 128GB microSD card, but I couldn’t get it to work. Low quality, probably bad sectors. Using a 16GB microSD card I had lying around instead.

Forgot to post the pics for scale

Me to, hours and hours and the results:

The downside of this MP3 player is that the buttons are smoothly integrated into the surface. Next time I’m going to look for one that has physical clicky buttons for play/pause, forward/back and volume.

One device at a time .. #Linux
