An alpine refuge over 2700m high in the Italian Dolomites stands as a stark WWI relic. Perched on Mount Cristallo, it seems to hover over a chasm. Believed to be built by Italian soldiers during the "White War" in 1915, they battled Austria-Hungary in this harsh terrain, carving shelters and paths.
