How do you define “religion”? And what distinguishes it from “relationship with God”?
"Religion" is the just response to the highest good, that is, God. True religion is an intimate relationship with God.

Agreed. Religion is the habit of virtue that inclines the will to render to God that which He deserves. (Which of course requires one to seek to understand the true God, aka the Christian God)
