Fun fact: If you set GrapheneOS camera to strip metadata, it also deletes the creation date.

This is funny, when you upload it to your personal cloud, and you get images all over 1970 😂😂😂😂

So now I am doing a small tool, that gets the creation date from the image title. Because that still contains it. So funny to delete it anyway.

Be aware, that the date in the filename is UTC, so not related to the exact time (with timezone) you took it.

I saved the gps in most of the images, so the script also infers the correct timezone, and sets the related fields in the image. This will help nextcloud to order the images properly.
