Why all the auto follows ??

Tech is still young. Apps are not that sophisticated. Follows establish a bit of relevance in your feed. Useful short term but not a good long term solution.

When I joined, I was automatically following 70 accounts. Had to remove a bunch of weirdos I don’t know or care about
Oh, odd. Must have been the cliemt you used.
Might have been some onboarding "experience" (some like it some don't) (come to think of it I think it is stupid) that autofollowed those.
