Fair, but asking people to reply in lieu of a reaction is more "work" for the end user. UX is a fickle thing, and decades of UX experiments in marketing and user engagement show that one tap increases engagement better than the necessity of three to accomplish the same task.

Major companies and guerrilla marketers have spent decades and millions studying and applying this stuff with great success. It's basic psychology, my friend. I wish you well with your experiment.
