Been doing this for about a year. Less strictly lately since I've been lifting late at night and want some calories after. Basically just skipping breakfast at this point. 2 meals + 2 small snacks a day. More than anything, just avoiding junk and 2500 calorie Jimmy Johns meals has been smart. Down about 10 lbs while all my lifts are up 50%.
