From this I conclude that honesty is the principle tool of real power. Intellectual honesty and communicative honesty. That tracks.
Or, they could lie and deceive to capture power, and once they have it, they can flaunt it in everyones face

Yeah that's where power lingers for a bit, past its legitimacy, but that method is inherently unsustainable and always ends in misery.
