I use https://jmp.chat/ and no cell phone

But if you need a portable phone I would look at dumb-phones

This looks good. Do you use multiple #xmpp clients with it, a favorite or the app they recommend for Android?

I currently use Phone.com's service in a similar way, mostly doing text and calls from my computer.

I've used multiple clients, for Android/Chromebook I use their app (Cheogram)
