Badges are: Free, Fun, and Proof of Being There at the moment of inception, proof of doing something arbitrary, or proof of having been an early adopter.

Like Nostr (and bc of Nostr) no tokenomics no real financialization….I love that. Just proof that you asked for something cool looking or that you were early.
