And yeah, Elk is a beautiful client that's significantly gimped when using Ditto. There's others that'll likely work better (both native and web apps), but this was mainly a testing thing I did for the first time.

Well, I've stopped using Amethyst a while ago. Main clients as of now as Jumble, Rabbit, YakiHonne (mainly on mobile) and now Nostria; don't know how much data those would use compared to using a Mastodon client, but it's likely to be less than Amethyst.
