Most things that i use on nostr works neatly. This isn't the case for nostr DMs, I think that part of the system is subpar.
The privacy level is random across clients. And message notifications can't be synced across devices either, so you'll always see year old unreads on new logons etc.
It just isn't neat.
Just because there are 50 clients doesn't mean you need to use all of them. The best nostr experience is to choose 1 client and use that as your main. Wanna use other clients generate a new key. Ive used mostly all clients but with a new key. Ive never lost my follow count always see dms i play with the relays but all from 1 client because every client is built different
Browser clients easily forget read messsges when you clear your cookies. So even if sticking to one, it could occur.
But yes, you are right. There's no need to jump around if one doesn't want to. ^^
