USA 🇺🇸: Louisiana state lawmakers approved a bill on Monday (4) that would expand judges' powers to sentence individuals convicted of certain sexual crimes against children to physical castration.

Orders for surgical castration would be permitted in cases involving victims under the age of 13.

The bill still needs to be signed into law by the state's governor, Jeff Landry (R).
