I agree, they are intertwined. For those with a 'private property' bent, all of the 10 commandments deal with property: worship is due to God alone, it is *his*, do not give it to another; the Lord's day is *his* do not give it to another; your neighbor's wife is *his* do not 'take' her for yourself; do not steal what belongs to your neighbor--don't even covet it (this is to doubt God's goodness toward you), etc.

I definitely have a private property bent but most of those things mentioned are not property.

Private property is supported by do not steal or covet, but stretching the concept to the others doesn’t make sense.

1. The place of Divine supremacy belongs to God alone.

2. Worship belongs to God alone.

3. God's name belongs to God alone, do not marshall it for other purposes.

4. The Sabbath belongs to God.

5. Honor is due to parents--it belongs to them, do not withold it.

6. Your neighbor's life is *his*, not yours, don't take it.

7. Your neighbor's wife is *his*, not yours, don't take her.

8. Your neighbor's stuff is *his*, not yours, don't take it.

9. Your neighbor's good name is *his*, don't impugn it falsely.

10. Your neighbor's speedboat isn't *yours*, don't make an idol of it.

The Law here is simply perfect justice--render to each one what is due to him, do not withhold it, neither take it away.
