My main question is, where do I use L-BTC? What is the appeal to swap it? I am just very interested and want to know. 🐶🐾🫡
I thought I'd do a short note to outline how I swapped Lightning sats to Liquid BTC as I'm sure there are a few of you who are new to it.
You'll need
1) Lightning wallet
2) Blockstream Green Wallet
3) https://liquid.boltz.exchange
Go to the boltz exchange swap feature. Enter amount of sats you want to swap (minimum is around 10-11k). Enter your Blockstream Green L-BTC address. Click swap, scan the invoice with your lightning wallet and pay. Wait about one minute and the L-BTC should show in your Blockstream Green wallet.
For reference I swapped 11k sats, paid a 428 sat network fee and a 10 sat boltz fee. If you swap back to Lightning sats from L-BTC it is much cheaper.

This is also my next question. I am for now treating it as a custodial storage for a small amount of sats. Maybe could be seen as a way to store sats custodially rather than on a non custodial lightning wallet. Hopefully, someone will have some thoughts on other use cases.
BTCPay server supports payment using L-BTC with the plugin, as far as I could recall. 🐶🐾🫡
