😄 8 hours of sleep = magic.
however, it's intersting to note the body takes about 40m to fall asleep and about 40m to wake up.
and sleep happens in 3 hour blocks, divided in half., its like a sine wave.
1.5hrs in, 1.5hrs out of the trough, with roughly 1 hour of REM sleep in perfect conditions, in the lull of the trough.
so if you put your sleep in 3 hour blocks, its pretty good. the minimum for a good night is 6hrs + roughly 2 hours for waking and falling asleep.
if you sleep too much, you wake up in the middle of a block of rem, and then you're thrown off all day.

so while 7 is bad, 8 is good, 9 is just about pushing it, and over that it turns into crap unless you sleep for say, 11.5-12. its kind of weird.
