Just as a river is never the same river we are always in a state of becoming.
We can be open to or fearful of becoming. Each are difficult paths. Resisting means we are allowing the fear to change us, being open to becoming usually means giving up things which are important.
I totally agree. But sometimes those things we attribute as important, in the new state of being, may appear as not so important. Not taking away the "importance" they had.

Yes, this is also likely the case but giving up things that one holds dear is not easy, in fact it’s typically a painful experience and it takes time. Change is hard.

Yes, it is. But this universe is paradoxical. Change is more difficult in the proportion of ones resistance. Have you ever noticed how things become difficult when we resist change? Life delivers challenges, one after the other. Even "money" becomes cranky ... All is connected. it's the universe trying to warns us we off path. As soon as we start with the steps towards change, life becomes smooth sailing again, and everything starts to magically happen. I have noticed that it is how it works.
My new born grandson is a pisces 🥹 and one of my best friends also. Beautiful, amazing sensitive soul. Huge heart !
