I usually won't be quick to jump on a bandwagon, but I believe the "Left Coast" of the USA broadly is Detroit v2 0. Apart from some multi-millionaire ghettos in Seattle, parts around SF and Sacramento and LA, there's no indication that these dysfunctional states and cities won't fall apart within the coming 5-10 years.
