LETTER-MANIFESTO OF BRAZILIAN BITCOINERS FOR FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

We bitcoiners are defenders of freedom of expression, and we will not be silent in the face of the threats that hang over us. Privacy has become a very rare commodity, surveillance is constant and censorship is increasingly frequent. We resisted.

The cypherpunks and cryptoanarchists who came before us, preceding the discovery of Bitcoin, already recognized freedom of expression as a fundamental right, and can only be truly protected through cryptographic technology. No matter the size of the power in the hands of the oppressors, we are armed with unstoppable technology.

Bitcoin is an insurmountable text. This means that it is a means of expression, as well as a work of art or a book. Bitcoin allows people to communicate directly, without the need for intermediaries or authorities who can censor or control their speech. It is the only text that is truly insurmountable. Bitcoin communicates with us in the language of mathematics, it is pure mathematics. It is protected by the fire column of the crypto, allowing transactions to be carried out in a secure and immutable way. Bitcoin is a text that cannot be manipulated, altered or censored. This feature is fundamental because, without it, Bitcoin could not exist.

Money is power and, historically, governments and large banks have controlled the issuance and circulation of money, maintaining their own power and privilege through the Cantillon Effect. This, by itself, is enough to say that they have censored the expression and communication that threaten their status quo!

They censor us by falsifying the value of money. Money is nothing more than a form of information. It transmits information about the value that is attributed to a particular good or service in an economy. When money is issued by an oligarchy, it is based on a belief in the authority and ability of the government and large banks to manage the economy and take over our lives.

Money, when controlled and issued by governments and large banks, is a tool with the purposeful objective of causing distortions, inflation, bubbles and financial crises. They have the ability to print money without any connection to the economic reality, so we will pay for the bankruptcy of the big banks that occurred recently in the United States.

Bitcoin fixes the problem of government-issued money because it is decentralized. There is no central authority that controls Bitcoin and it cannot be manipulated by any government or central entity. Money is a form of information and the fiduciary system has distorted this information by issuing currency without connection to economic reality. Bitcoin fixes this problem by being a scarce, decentralized asset and real sounding money.

It allows people to transact and communicate safely, without fears and insecurities about their assets and the fruit of their suffered work. This is especially important for workers and all those who are at the base of the production chain, living in underdeveloped countries such as Brazil

In a constant battle against those who wish to limit our rights, bitcoiners continue to unite as a strong and anti-fragile community, demonstrating to the world that Bitcoin represents a transnational movement for freedom and privacy.

Bitcoiners from all over the world have built a series of applications and implementations, transforming Bitcoin into a hydra of more and more heads, increasingly anti-fragile. Within this context of universal collaboration, NOSTR was born.

"Notes and Other Things Transmitted by Relays" (Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays", is a protocol developed by a Brazilian, with the objective of allowing the creation of social networks and communication channels resistant to censorship. NOSTR was born to provide us with decentralized and uncensored communication on the web, using a private key and public key system similar to that of Bitcoin, sustained through relays instead of us.

NOSTR is a protocol without owners and through it any people can exchange messages with each other through applications that can be created within the network by any developer. The protocol is open source and based on simple and flexible event objects, combined with standard elliptic curve cryptography for keys and signatures.

The world has been deeply immersed in a panoptic technocracy in which we always see ourselves under the sights of surveillance programs perpetrated by megacorporations linked to the maintenance of the Cantillon Effect. In recent months we have seen a presenter of the largest podcast in the country have his life destroyed, politicians and militants from the extreme left to the extreme right being hunted, profiles on social networks being excluded, arrests resulting from the defense of certain opinions and bank accounts being automatically blocked - through the prototype of CBDC that we have, Pix.

The current president of the republic seems to be inattentive, not caring, and consequently collaborate with the current authoritarian escalation. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has already publicly praised the person of Julian Assange and his work on Wikileaks. Assange is one of the greatest, if not the greatest living cypherpunk, whose survival and maintenance of Wikileaks was only possible thanks to Bitcoin. Wikileaks was the first major organization of relevance to adopt Bitcoin as a means of payment, which allowed it to go over its exclusion from the conventional financial system. The disappearance of the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, occurred a few moments after the adoption of its system by Wikileaks, he probably knew what was to come.

Today, Julian Assange is imprisoned and chained in the hands of the bandits related to the maintenance of the Cantillon Effect worldwide. His agents and infiltrators are on all sides, in the Brazilian government, in the Federal Police, in the state-owned companies, in political parties, in the media and in academia.
