Just watched this episode on adoption in Cuba. Something that was brought up was the government shutting down the Internet and Bitcoin stops working. This drives home something I've been thinking about a lot. We need a future where our local circular economies (Bitcoin Beach, Bitcoin Jungle, etc) can continue to exist even if the internet is down for a week or two. While the ultimate solution might be some sort of satellite uplink, this could be where using a custodial provider local to the circular economy could have an advantage. Payments within users (for example within Bitcoin Jungle) could keep paying if we could come up with a WiFi distribution for example on markets. In the future this custodian could be a shared custodian using Fedimint, the importance being able to keep remitting on the node even without the rest of the internet.

I know I have seen some innovations on using bitcoin without internet. Seen some cell service based ones in Africa. Be cool to have a back up satellite everyone could connect to to broadcast payments in a worse case.
