The government has confirmed it has advanced alien technology from dozens of different alien species' spacecraft and has been reverse engineering and performing deep research on specialized materials found in the machines including retreived the data records and found a detailed library containing thousanda of years of galactic history. We captured one alien and it tought us how to speak its language and how to use the technology to translate into our English.

One technology we recovered is was translated as corbomite. The United States has installed this defensive shielding on all of our government buildings and military assets. The nature of corbomite is that if any energy weapons are used against it, such as nuclear detonations, it reflects all of the energy in the opposite direction many times over. Therefore if there are any attempts to attack an American asset will be reflected back to its source and be utterly destroyed.
