Quick feedback: even as a heavy lightning user, I actually did not understand that I needed to go back to the swap page in order for the lightning payment to settle.

To me the yellow message meant: “Once your lightning wallet shows that the payment is completed, return to the webapp”.

However the payment never completes unless I actually go back to the webapp. It lead me to think that my wallet had trouble finding a route or something and so I was patiently waiting there for the invoice to settle before returning to the webapp.

Not sure. Maybe something like: “The lightning payment won’t succeed until you come back to this page to claim it”
