This is the way.
I'm dreaming a bit here, but one day we'll have an Aurora-like store within zap.store (would run on a separate relay)
Uninstalling Google Services Framework (GSF) is fine on your owner profile, but you'll need them on the other profiles if you're not using Zap Store or alternative apps that don't require GSF. Hope that helps.
If you really DON'T want to use Google Play/GFS, you can also use nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8 and Aurora store for apps that are similar or have less permissions granted (or none, in the case with Zap Store), which is what I do on my Owner profile.
I do sandbox (set up different profiles to run various apps and each type of app has its own profile that can't see other things on your phone). For example, I have a different profile for Maps and one for Banking so that when I need directions I can use Google Maps and my bank app does not work at all on my owner profile.
This is the way.

Small set of further questions and forgive me for being an idiot but...
Question 0: how to use github? Is there a simple way like an "github appstore"? How do I know the github stuff is " legit"?
Question 1: I downloaded the zap.store via the apk (don't understand github option) and of course didn't check the hash (there are some command prompt items in the description, how to do that on a phone?
Question 2: it shows me updates available for a set of apps that are not available (yet?) On the regular play store orfdroidd or thebaurora store....
Well i think this thread is educational for how the new ones to this environment get confused by the non spoon fed solutions and alternatives to the conglomerates (google apple meta Microsoft)
Lots of kickups where people might give up... So thank you for your time and explanations
none of these updates present in other app stores....
