Remember when all the anti-bluecheck Bitcoin influencers on Nostr called them out and pulled out of their speaking spots to make a stand against the nonsense? Oh wait…

I don't think that's a good play tbh. I wouldn't be a Bitcoin dev today if I didn't get inspired at the open source stage at my first conference, glad at least some of the content isn't trash

Has to be a line somewhere, or there doesn’t and anything goes but then what’s the difference between bitcoin and shitcoins? Different for everyone but this year was particularly grotesque, and it came from the CEO himself.

Eh I dunno last year was ordinal shitcoins this year politician shitcoins, I think it's good to try to reach these new coiners with good content about nostr and open source

The other "purer" conferences are just all of us who already agree with each other on everything

To me the goal is to get good content in front of the world vs taking a type of moral stance against btcmedia those are my 2 sats maybe I'm wrong

I’m in no way a “purest” but I do see pros and cons, and at some point if the cons outweigh the pros then what is the proper course of action? To me it’s to stop supporting their effort. I agree it’s good to see certain people have the opportunity on such a large stage to try and push things in a better direction, and yet by being there and by attending each person there provides financial support to the company behind the event so it also supports all the other things they’re pushing whether we each see it that way or not. Anyway, there probably isn’t a “right” or “wrong” answer here. Just perspectives. 🫡
