Have you ever read Orwell’s intro to Animal Farm that wasn’t published with the book?

very recently in a new translation to portuguese, both his intro and a brazilian writer’s one. curious how some people just didnt get it.

worst censorship after all was from those who claimed to be freedom of speech keepers. any correlation to these days?

When I studied Animal Farm in school, the teacher’s presentation was simply “communism bad”…and by extension, “America’s alternative good.”

Now I reread Animal Farm, read Orwell’s other works, learn about Orwell’s beliefs, and read the unpublished introduction to AF, and it’s clear that we all accepted an interpretation that was far from Orwell’s intention.

and the same goes for 1984. he was a socialist himself, after all. even though the idealistic socialism, not schwab’s one lol he would die again if he saw lenin’s bust in schwab’s office. then again… it is what it is. how do they call it? psychological something, dont remember.

programming?
