Some of it is, but not too much. And a lot of the stuff they changed for absolutely no understandable reason, was not stuff that would’ve been dated otherwise.
Some minor points of tech are anachronisms now, but Asimov was pretty spot on with his science, so there aren’t too many glaring issues.
As a counterpoint: Dune Part 1. They changed some stuff, but the story is still Dune. Tbh it’s one of the slickest book->movie’s I’ve seen lately. Foundation does not feel like the story in the book. (To me)
I like the Dune adaptation so far.
It would be nice if they continued with the rest of the books in series. Not sure how popular it would be though.
In a few years we will just ask a text-to-movie AI to create one based on the new movies and the books. So maybe there's no need that the actual humans get involved :). It's going to be faster too.
