Social Networking in 2030

The past, present and future of social networks.

Humans are social. There is no escaping that. We built the internet as a way to communicate, and inside of this 'cyber-space', we proceeded to create digital communities and ‘social networks.’

The first iteration of these networks have devolved into algorithmic dopamine-dispensers, but I believe we are the precipice of a new era of social networking - something that started 20yrs ago now.

We have some new building blocks and a chance to build them more intentionally now that we understand more about human nature and its relationship to the web.

This is not a long read, but an important one if you’re a content creator of any kind, and are interested in what's quite possibly the biggest shift in the internet since social networks and Web2.0 became a 'thing.'
