I uploaded a GIF to imgur and then copied the link to the GIF itself, the URL address and then updated my profile pic inside the astral.ninja client.
You can also use https://metadata.nostr.com/
Pretty cool! My PFP is WEBP but it’s so small I can’t tell if it’s animating
