When you sever the vertical (God) and horizontal (family, community) connections, you don't become a free-floating autonomous individual.

You become undifferentiated protoplasm. Absorbed into the blob.

The blob offers substitutes: followers instead of family, platforms instead of community, ideology instead of God. All the forms, none of the bonds.

Sovereignty requires roots. Without them you're not free - you're just unmoored, drifting toward whatever gravity well the algorithm creates.

The irony: they think they escaped the old constraints. They just traded bonds that knew their name for a blob that doesn't.
