TradeFi is normally wrong because they don’t have to be right. The entire Industry is centered around inflows and selling you a narrative.

There are multiple types of tradfi entities.
Some are self-aware AUM gatherers, as you describe.
Others are operators, partially trying to gather AUM but mainly trying to squeak out gains against a benchmark while not deviating too much, and trying not to get sued. Basically actively trying to cut the right and left tails off.
