Had drinks with a South African last week and when he told people about that they couldn’t grok it at all and yet it’s the exact path Australia’s energy policy will lead to within a decade

It's a slow decline so people rationalise it, it started in 2007 and we were all fine oh what is an hour or 2 every so often, now its a daily thing

We've already wasted way too much money on wind and solar that brought F all too the grid but money for a few greenies and politicians, and its going to take too long to spin up any new energy production so you're forced to kill as much demand as possible

Theres obviously a shortage of personal production, people can't get solar, batteries and inverters into the country fast enough. The fastest growing theft market right now is solar panels and batteries from trucks as people are desperately overpaying to shield themselves and fund this black market

It’s the slow part which makes it so nefarious. Like inflation, it makes it harder to see what’s happening when it trickles.

We’re completely dominated by climate cultists now so the path is set. QLD just announced a 75% reduction in emissions by 2035 despite the fact the whole fucking state runs on coal&gas, oh and nuclear power is banned across the country.

People think you can just switch on new generation assets like buying a new appliance with zero appreciation for the lead times, capital, and skills needed. As if we could just reverse it all if it doesn’t work..

Interesting that solar is being targeted for theft! Any articles on that? I’d love to rub that in the greenies faces who think they’re gonna be fine because it works for them today, they wouldn’t have considered that they’re going to be targeted when things go bad here
