Trying our hand at beef tallow. The first batch we screwed up and was more than we have here. At $10 a jar, will have about $40 worth... This is on top of the ground beef we made for about $3 per pound.

This was made from 75 lbs worth of brisket.

Next time we'll know better on making the tallow.

FYI I just did a crock pot batch as well and had to boil off the water from the tallow to get a nicer product. One of my smaller jars went bad before I realized there was too much water

I put the jars in the fridge upside down, once it hardened I opened the. No water, just some collegen I pulled off. Must have done it right. I do have some left in a bowl I'm gonna see if any water is in it.
