In America also, you need a fishing license. You actually need 2 fishing licenses in America. One for salt water and 1 for fresh water. And you also need a license to get clams and oysters It's ridiculous

The ostensible legitimate purpose is to prevent overfishing (as has happened). Whether govt bureaucrats can actually do something like that is open to question.
