My mom is at the end of her ~30 year career as a school #psychologist. At the beginning of her career, of the kids she tested (typically around pre-school age), about 5% were diagnosed with #autism. Now, approximately 30 years later, of the kids she tests, about 50% are diagnosed with autism. This 50% diagnosis rate is consistent across the region.
