Primal web or app? We figured out that the web version doesn’t remove the reply tags when you reply in a group thread, but the app does, well the iOS one does. Probably the same on Android. Not 100% sure

This is from the Android app. So what you're saying is that my reply tags everyone above to the root instead of just you?
Exactly. That’s how other clients behave as well. But on iOS it only tags the person you’re replying to. Makes it hard to have a nice group thread
Yeah that's interesting. The code I'm working on for a personal Nostr relay would make it so that I just have to subscribe to a thread and my relay will know if any replies are added anywhere below me. But I'd also need to make my own client for that feature to work. What I'm planning isn't supported anywhere except maybe as a DVM, but DVMs are kinda lame.

Yes. Amethyst has the same behaviour as primal android and the other clients I’ve used. Except for primal iOS. Which is a pretty huge bug honestly
My biggest problem with Primal is that it doesn't count custom emoji reactions. Probably because it looks at the reaction content of ":emoji:" as invalid. Yet it'll render emojis in notes now :gigachad_sm:
