It's a jungle out there for those who want to post content on the web - especially if you are a follower of Jesus.
Most of the fediverse disdains those who follow the Prince of Peace. The rejection of those with traditional values on Mastodon instances is probably why many have moved to Gab.

On the Gemini protocol I have tried 2 excellent hosts, but never heard a reply after attempting to register. They both screened me by asking what I would write about.
Free hosting so that is OK.
One promising arrival for social media is Streams:

I have a Streams account and love it! Nomad and ActivityPub communications are supported. The ability to clone your site on multiple servers is from the genuis of Mike Macgirvin.
The other hopeful arrival is NOSTR.
