Specially when one realizes that you might not see them again
You know, my best friend, the closest friend I ever had, passed away unexpectedly a few years ago.
About a month before that, I randomly messaged him and told him I loved him. Thats all. Hey man, I love you. I still have it screen shotted.
That has always brought me solace in his absence. That is where I learned this lesson. You tell people you love that you love them because they should know while they can.
I grew up in a fairly stoic household where love was no openly expressed. I’ve dated to defy that. I show my love very openly and widely. Fuck that bullshit. We don’t have much time. It’s worth letting people know they’re loved.
