I... kinda have to get this out of my system and whilst I could scream at a wall for five minutes, noting it on Nostr feels more natural.
So. There is this conflict between Israel and the Hamas, who have been largely operating in Gaza. All I hear, day in and day out, in the news (Deutschlandfunk, Tagesschau - both ARD publications, per-se) is how Israel is fighting the Hamas and how supportive actions are taken for and towards Israel. Only very rarely do I hear about Gaza getting any help.
But - why? Wasn't the grand idea to make both Israel AND Palestina two distinct nations? Then why are they not treated equally? Why is it that Israel is getting all the support, whilst Palestina hardly gets any mention? Technically speaking, not all of the Gaza strip is probably Palestina - my geographic knowledge and understanding is rather bad and limited. But even so - it feels heavily unequal.
For instance, there were protests here in germany both pro-Israel and pro-Palestina/Gaza. Guess which ones got more denials? Hint - it wasn't Israel.
For all it's worth, the UN is once again showing it's uselessness and pure symbolic nature. It couldn't do a thing in Ukraine/Russia and it can't - and won't - in this situation. The EU is too busy pushing goods to Ukraine and the USA immediately sent aircraft carriers over - and from the sound of it, this was not a manouver spoken about with any of their partners in neither NATO, UN, nor anywhere else. I could be wrong here though.
I am just... So confused. On the one hand, the much-propagated "two state solution" is still said to be the "ultimative goal", but the treatment of the two sides is vastly and utterly different to one another.
Hot take, but I can kinda understand why gaza people don't like the west, or at least at this point.
Feels like such an agenda to me... ugh. No matter who you vote, in the end, they only do what they feel like doing, I guess. :/
