Been running Pi Hole for a few years now and it's pretty good. Another alternative is NextDNS with aggressive block lists, which can be used easily when away from your Pi Hole network
I've only ever used Pihole. For maybe 3 years now? It's fantastic. I'll check out NextDNS. Thanks.

Adguard-home is a good alternative to pi-hole.
I've seen a few people mention this, but I've never tried it. I've been a Pihole users for years.
On firmwares like openwrt you find adguard-home in its repo
