What do you call groups of people who must yuck other people's yum?

People who seem to form an opinion that's always contrary to the popular one and then use social media to get headpats for sharing it?

I've called these people #edgelords but UrbanDictionary says that carries a nihilistic connotation.

These people think of themselves as being virtuous.

Is it just #cancelculture?

i call them debaters 🥴

imo, those people aren’t virtuous but still somewhat helpful. questioning ideas is important to separating the wheat from the chaff – only those which are able to withstand criticism will remain
