It wasn’t until I sent my wife some clips and articles from some female influencers and physicians she could relate to, that she really took an interest. Now she’s almost too extreme and sweats me if I fall off strict protein only lol.

My wife went through an initial unpleasant “carnivore flu” type phase when she switched, as her body adjusted to being in ketosis all the time. But when she immediately saw 15lb melt off in 3 weeks, she was blown away.

Now I can scour the cupboards and I can’t seem to find any crap to eat even if I wanted to. Which is rare, because I’m almost never hungry between meals.

The last holdout for me, especially in the winter is the ease of pouring myself a few too many drinks on the weekend. Love that Crown on the rocks and a few shots of Patron lol.

The biggest surprise to me has been that our food bill has actually gone down, not up, just by wiping so much packaged crap off the grocery list. To the tune of about 30%! It’s amazing how much mileage you can get from a flat of eggs and some regular ground beef.

When we were eating the old menu, we rarely bought steak because there just wasn’t room in the budget. Now we can often treat ourselves and it’s so appreciated now.

I’m still far from my goal weight and desperately trying to fit the gym back into my new 50 hour work weeks (that used to be 40). But I sure feel better. Aches and pains that I had previously written off as just aging are gone. It’s amazing the discomfort one can just adapt to and accept as normal over time.

I've always been athletic and high energy growing up. I ate more, had a great appetite and felt great. After getting a get paid for doing no thing career, I got lazy in the winter here in Canada. Its freaking -20Celcius and 4 feet of snow all winter where I live. Now after middle age, I've got out of the habbit of exercising during winter, low appetite, still lots of walking but no heavy exercise. I am underweight at about 6 feet 150lbs, was always 170lbs until this lifestyle change.

Strange, I always thought the opposite would happen.

I need to eat more of everything!

I drink 12 beers a day and it doesnt add a single pound.

now that im getting older maybe I should try anabolic steroids lol
