Honestly incredibly excited that Bitcoin Core folks are finally more strictly creating an environment where contributors can focus on code rather than letting things get bogged down in stupid drama. This is incredible news for Bitcoin.

I missed it, what happened.

Ty, no this is fucked. Mechanic was right to point out the conflict of interest.

Matt, you're in the wrong here. Massively. Switching to knots.

Yes, I think he was right to point out the conflict of interest but Loop might also be right. (He's not the mod but obviously found it convenient)

Financial interest is not automatically a conflict of interest.

No one has been able to explain how changing the OP_RETURN policy would make my Citrea investment worth more.

The pull request is about HOW various entities will anchor their data into the blockchain, not IF they will.

Citrea's bridge will function regardless of how they anchor the data in the blockchain.

Please elaborate, and for sure how we can help keeping #Bitcoin safe.

So since stupid drama is out now, we're can finally get CTV+CSFS done, right??

Speaking of frequent sources of drama that deter many people from seriously looking at these proposals.

Also, CTV helps projects like Citrea, so it should result in *more* OP_RETURN data.

My main concern with moderation is that it can drag culture war stuff into a project. But I think the moderation process is transparent enough to keep an eye on that.

Still need to decide if I'm going to do Drama Mondays and not go anywhere this stuff on other days. Like today.

Bitcoin Core’s GitHub exists to allow contributors to contribute and build good software. Sure, banning people who show up with no intent to contribute creates drama elsewhere, but “are you preventing contributors from contributing” is a pretty clear line. If people can’t stomach that, that’s on them.

You must be talking about their censorship of certain voices on the Bitcoin Core repo cf
