That’s great. I really like using the messenger, I just have to revoke its permission to run in the background from time to time, otherwise my battery drains quickly. Especially when I’m on the go.

Did you upgrade to v0.2.1? That already has some battery improvements compared to v0.2.0
Yep, I’m already on v0.2.1. I keep White Noise Messenger updated via Obtainium, so I usually get the newest releases quickly. Battery usage seems better than v0.2.0 so far, but I still need to watch it a bit more to be sure.
One small bug I noticed: if I set the app’s battery setting to “Optimized”, I always get a prompt on launch asking to allow background running (“Should the app always run in the background? … can reduce battery life”). If I tap “Decline”, it won’t continue into the messenger — I have to tap “Allow” or I’m basically blocked.
So: battery feels improved.
