Any good FOSS photo search tools? Like Google Photos, but without the suck?

Just use google brother there’s plenty of photos of him🫡

lmao thank you, very helpful 😂

I knew it was wrong but I could not help myself

I've heard good things about immich but never tried it myself

That looks promising and it has object search, thank you! 🧡

Something like Pexels or Unsplash?

No, it has to be something I can feed my local library into.

My bad; I misunderstood.

PhotoPrism maybe

Was looking into the same thing this week! Currently exploring the following options:

PhotoPrism: https://www.photoprism.app/

NextCloud photos/memories:

https://demo.memories.gallery/apps/memories/

DigiKam:

https://www.digikam.org/about/features/

I'm currently leaning towards NextCloud, but mostly because I also need to replace my old NAS

What I'm looking for mostly is search. Like, really good search. Object recognition, all the metadata, etc.

I want to be able to find all the pictures that have a banana in it that I've shot in 2021 with my Canon EOS 5d Mark II, and I want to find them in 5 seconds, typing a single query.

Google Photos used to be good for that, but it isn't anymore. Object recognition got worse and worse as the woke overlords restrict everything and most queries return zero results now.

Can confirm Photoprism will be able to find all your "banana" pics 😜 shot with a Canon 5D in a single query
