I love it. Using their weapons against them - I can't fault that.
Yeah its tricky because time has value. A set sum of money is just always worth more now than later, because you can do stuff with it, maybe make it grow. Would you pay more later to have the money now and start a business line? Heck yeah.
But... How much? What's reasonable? Who decides how much is reasonable? Maybe you can handle that decision, if presented with choices (not likely), but can your brother or your mother? Mine can't, neither of them.
It's still state law in I think 48 US states that higher than 6% is usury and illegal. But they no longer get to decide - corrupt people took over Washington and got enforcement based on the commerce clause of the constitution so that only the laws of the state where the credit company is listed are enforced, and now tens of millions of Americans are entrapped by debt, even though the states they live in would have protected them 100 years ago. They aren't using the 25% interest debt to start businesses - they're trying to eat. You can never escape 25% interest, if it gets past a certain point, which is much lower than people realize or they wouldn't let it happen.
The slope is too slippery. Nothing short of a full ban can hold. People are corruptible.
But its so much worse. Our money technically isn't fiat - its credit. Every dollar that is created must be paid back with some amount of interest. Where does that come from? Money gets shuffled around but the the total gap between money that exists and money that must be paid only get wider. There's a class of people who own the debt and never have to work or produce anything. They are literally enslaving everyone else, though I doubt any of them think that their own personal actions are to blame.
It must end. Real suffering is caused by usury. The reasons to have it do not outweigh the harms. This is literally the one thing that matters.
Interest won't exist on a Bitcoin standard.
It's incompatible with it
We don't need to ban ursary, just show people why it's evil. I can't think of a better way than taking the whole scam to the extreme. Sell a 100 billion dollars of STRC preferred shares paying a perpetual 10% dividend (of the fiat value invested) to then go & buy an absolutely scarce asset.
Pay them the 10% fiat dividend forever.
